NNMC News:ESPAÑOLA – Northern New Mexico College will present the 2019 International Critical Psychology Praxis Congress Sept. 27-28 at the Center for Fine Arts and featuring global scholars, practitioners and activists.
NNMC said it is proud to bring 2019 ICPPC to Española for the first time. The 2019 ICPPC is a transdisciplinary event, whose theme is psychosocial non-alignment to modernity/coloniality.
Tickets are free for members of the NNMC community and UNM students. Otherwise, tickets are $50 for the two-day conference.

Not only are many of the scholars from out of state (e.g., GA, NY, PA, LA, WA and CA), but some of them come from overseas, such as Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil and Chile.
Tommy J. Curry, Ph.D. is a Personal Chair in African Philosophy and Black Male Studies, and in 2018 he won an American Book Award for The Man-Not: Race, Class, Genre, and the Dilemmas of Black Manhood.
Patricia Trujillo, Ph.D. serves as director of Northern New Mexico College’s Office of Equity and Diversity. She has taught at Northern for more than five years and has published research on the subjects of cultural identity, Chicana feminism, indigeneity, and place-based identity.
