ESPAÑOLA — The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) announced Thursday a series of temporary service reductions affecting several Blue Bus routes and services, beginning Monday, August 4, 2025, due to a continued shortage of transit operators.
Effective Aug. 4:
- The MyBlue™ Española Zone will continue to operate Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., but with reduced trip availability. Passengers are encouraged to book in advance or use NCRTD’s free fixed-route Blue Bus service.
- Route 110 Westside/Crosstown service will be temporarily suspended until further notice. Riders are encouraged to use the MyBlue™ Española Zone as an alternative during this time.
- On the Route 150 Chimayó, Blue Bus trips between 10:30 a.m. and 11:25 a.m. will be temporarily suspended until further notice. Service outside of this window will continue to operate as scheduled.
“We know how vital these services are to our communities,” NCRTD Executive Director Anthony Mortillaro said. “Unfortunately, the ongoing challenge of hiring and retaining qualified transit operators has made it difficult to maintain our full schedule. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and ask for our riders’ continued patience.”
Mortillaro added, “These service reductions are temporary. We are actively working to recruit and train new drivers and are committed to restoring full service as soon as possible.”
NCRTD encourages interested applicants to explore job openings and apply online at DriveTheBlueBus.com. Competitive pay and benefits are available for qualified candidates.
