NNMC News:
ESPAÑOLA — Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) welcomes students back for face-to-face learning Monday, Aug. 15.
With the campus reopening for classes, NNMC is announcing a new location for the Curative.com mobile COVID-19 testing unit at 139 Longview Dr. in White Rock. The new testing site should be operational by Aug. 19. Curative also is exploring other Española locations. Northern said it is pleased to have hosted the community testing clinic for the past two years.
The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) website (https://findatestnm.org/) lists Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy, Rio Arriba Health Commons and Aspen Urgent Care as testing locations in Española. NMDOH recommends calling to confirm testing availability and hours of operation.
“When COVID closed the campus for the past two years, we were delighted to be able to support the City of Española and greater Rio Arriba County by hosting an accessible testing center on campus,” NNMC President Barbara Medina said. “As we transition back to our primary mission of educating our community, we must put that mission first, which means that our space must be used to support that mission and to keep our campus community as safe as possible.”
Northern thanks Curative.com and Rio Arriba County, New Mexico Department of Health, New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, New Mexico National Guard, the City of Española, Presbyterian Health Services and El Centro Family Health, who partnered over the past two and a half years to provide this free service at Northern New Mexico College.
