PED: Mask Guidance Unchanged For New Mexico Schools

PED News:

…Pending additional information from CDC, masks are required in schools

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) announced today that New Mexico’s public schools will continue requiring staff, educators, students and visitors to wear masks at all times except when eating or drinking.

Despite new mask guidance Thursday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the mask requirement is unchanged for school settings for now due to the potential spread of COVID-19 among unvaccinated students.

The CDC now recommends vaccination for everyone age 12 and up. Register at vaccinenm.org.
