NMDOT: Los Alamos Roadway Reconstruction Project … NM 502 (Trinity Drive) Road Closure – Friday July 26

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE – New Mexico Department of Transportation and Star Paving Company continue roadway reconstruction on N.M. 502 from mile post 1.257 to mile post 2.053 in Los Alamos. 

The contractor will begin installation of a 14” waterline across N.M. 502 (Trinity Drive) between Central Avenue and Canyon Road.

On Friday July 26 – N.M. 502 will be CLOSED 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Central Avenue and Canyon Road. The closure is required to safely install a 14” waterline across N.M. 502 (Trinity Drive). Traffic will be detoured during this time.

DETOURS FOR FRIDAY JULY 26

  • EB Traffic will continue on 4th Street detour to Canyon Road and back onto N.M. 502; and
  • WB Traffic will be detoured onto Canyon Road to 4th Street and back onto Central Avenue

There will be NO truck traffic allowed on N.M. 502 during this time. All truck traffic can use the Truck Route on East Jemez Road. Detour signs will be in place to guide the traffic through the detours. The work is planned to be completed in one day; weather permitting. The two-way traffic from Canyon Road east will stay in the current lane configuration.
