NMDCA: Women’s History Banner Exhibit To Open In Governor’s Gallery In Santa Fe May 6

NMDCA News:

A new Women’s History Banner Exhibit will open Monday, May 6 in the Governor’s Gallery in Santa Fe.

Presented by New Mexico State Library and created by the New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program, this banner exhibit celebrates the women who helped shape New Mexico history.

More than a dozen banners share background information and history of women such as Esther Martinez, P’oe Tsáwä, Pablita Velarde Tse Tsan, “Golden Dawn”, Soledad Chavez Chacon, Harriet Belle Amsden Sammons, Anita Scott Coleman and more.

The New Mexico Historic Women Marker Program is responsible for numerous roadside markers around New Mexico, and these banners share the stories of the women featured on the markers.
