ALBUQUERQUE — The New Mexico State Bar Foundation (“the Bar Foundation”) announces its 35th anniversary, marking 35 years of advancing access to justice and supporting the legal community and public across New Mexico.
Established on Feb. 20, 1991, by the governing body of the State Bar of New Mexico (“the State Bar”), the Board of Bar Commissioners, the New Mexico State Bar Foundation serves as the charitable arm of the State Bar. The Foundation supports the legal community through educational opportunities and serves the public through multiple legal helplines and free workshops, including the Legal Resources for the Elderly Program and the Modest Means Helpline, as well as its Divorce Options and Consumer Debt/Bankruptcy Workshops.
“Since 1991, the Bar Foundation has been committed to providing access to justice to New Mexico residents and premier legal education to attorneys, paralegals and other legal professionals,” remarked New Mexico Bar Foundation President Elizabeth J. Travis. “This year, I look forward to another year of service and stewardship to the Bar Foundation ensuring New Mexicans have access to the legal tools and resources they need.”
