GSNMT News:
ALBUQUERQUE — Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails (GSNMT) announced today a partnership with Love’s Travel Stops that gives the public an opportunity to show their appreciation for truck drivers delivering critical supplies in New Mexico and beyond.
Donations for Drivers provides an avenue for individuals and businesses to say thank you by donating boxes of cookies that will be given to drivers at Love’s Travel Stops along I-40 in New Mexico. Each box donated via NMGirlScouts.org will be delivered to Love’s and distributed to drivers next month.
“Since our founding in 1912, Girl Scouts have given back to the community in times of uncertainty,” GSNMT CEO Rebecca Latham said. “This is our way to say thank you to the men and women who are keeping our shelves stocked and our families provided for during the COVID-19 crisis.”
“Professional truck drivers are the heroes of the highway, and we are so thrilled how the country has come together to appreciate the work they’ve done during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Jenny Love Meyer, chief culture officer and executive vice president of Love’s. “We’re excited to partner with the Girl Scouts and help bring joy to the men and women who are keeping the country running.”
Donations from the public are being accepted at NMGirlScouts.org through April 19 or until supplies run out. Each $5 donation buys one box of cookies that will be delivered to a professional driver stopping for fuel, food or rest at a Love’s Travel Stop.
“Gestures of gratitude don’t have to be huge, but they do need to be heartfelt,” Latham said. “What better way to tell the drivers ‘thank you’ than with this iconic and wholesome reminder of the children and families who are cheering them on from homes across New Mexico?”
