NJROTC Precision Gold Rifle Team Takes First in National Competition

The National Rifle Association has announced the results of the 2012-2013 VFW-NRA Smallbore and Air Rifle Postal Matches. The Los Alamos High School NJROTC Precision Gold Rifle Team is First Place winner, ranking with an aggregate score of 5,792.  

“We are very proud of these kids and they represented our local post well,” VFW Post 8874 Commander Rogelio Anaya said.

The awards were presented to the team members at an awards ceremony Oct. 9 at the VFW Post in Los Alamos.

The Los Alamos Junior rifle teams and members receiving awards for the National VFW/NRA postal competition are:

  • Los Alamos NJROTC Sporter Rifle Team, first place;
  • Los Alamos NJROTC Precision Rifle Team, first place;
  • JoAnna O’Neill, first place, precision air rifle;
  • Tessa Snyder, third place air rifle, fourth place small bore; and
  • LCDR Shumaker, first place adult air and small bore.
