ALBUQUERQUE ― The National Hispanic Cultural Center Library and Archives is pleased to announce the conclusion of the Creating Digital Access to the Mari Luci Jaramillo Collection Photographs grant, awarded by the State of New Mexico and National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
The generous support has provided accessibility to the Mari-Luci Jaramillo Collection and, in particular, its photographs.
The images of this substantial collection provide an unparalleled look at a life dedicated to and distinguished by service to community, New Mexico, and our nation.
Mari-Luci Jaramillo was a teacher and leader in education reform in New Mexico, a national advocate for civil rights, and the first Latina ambassador and first female ambassador to a Central American country (Honduras).
As the grant project comes to an end, we are excited to announce that digitization of the collection will continue through the remainder of 2018, thereby providing research access to even more images via the New Mexico Digital Collections https://econtent.unm.edu/.
