The New Mexico True brand, through tagging and sharing of #NewMexicoTrue on Instagram, has officially reached the 1 million post milestone.
“There are literally a million reasons to visit New Mexico,” Tourism Secretary Jen Paul Schroer said. “Surpassing the 1 million mark with #NewMexicoTrue on Instagram demonstrates how this brand has created memorable, authentic experiences for so many visitors and residents alike.”
Since the early days of #NewMexicoTrue at the turn of 2016, New Mexico has seen record-breaking growth in visitation and visitor spending. From 2016-2017, New Mexico welcomed an estimated 71.1 million visitors that generated an estimated $13.1 million in visitor spending. The success of the New Mexico True brand has also led to New Mexico outpacing the national average in visitation growth by 50 percent.
“Reaching this milestone is certainly a reason to celebrate – and what’s even more exciting is knowing that even bigger milestones rest ahead for the New Mexico True brand,” Schroer said.
