ENCANTADO FOUNDATION News:
The Encantado Foundation has announced the opening of the inaugural Impact Grant application, a major grant funding opportunity, available to organizations that provide STEM career development programs and services for underserved populations, specifically with women, persons of color, Native Americans, and individuals with disabilities.
Impact Grants are open to organizations serving Bernalillo, Sandoval, Valencia, Socorro, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos counties.
“On behalf of our Board of Directors, we are thrilled to introduce The Encantado Foundation to the technology community of Northern and Central New Mexico,” said Executive Director Jay Galvan Heneghan of The Encantado Foundation. “With the launch of The Foundation’s first grant cycle, we look forward to helping local non-profit organizations foster the creation of more hire-ready candidates in the Greater Albuquerque area, including those from underrepresented populations in technology careers.”
Through the Impact Grants funding opportunity, The Encantado Foundation seeks to grant financial awards to organizations and initiatives that:
- Generate, support, and expand the area’s digital workforce;
- Create opportunities for professional development and hands-on training through internships, mentorships, and apprenticeships in STEM fields; and/or
- Help new graduates, returning students, and working learners develop skills, earn certifications, and attain licensures that can lead to greater opportunities for employment in technology careers.
Online grant applications will be accepted until Friday, June 3. For more information on The Encantado Foundation’s Impact Grant funding opportunity and grantmaking criteria, visit www.theencantadofoundation.org.
About The Encantado Foundation
The Mission of the Encantado Foundation is to stimulate the development of hire-ready candidates for STEM-related positions, particularly in the areas of cyber security, application development and management, and IT operations. We seek to foster the professional development of individuals who wish to be a part of the digital workforce — including those from underrepresented communities in tech careers such as women, people of color, native people, and people with physical limitations — while also reshaping the way that workforce resources are acquired by technology-related employers.
The Encantado Foundation was formed by Encantado Technical Solutions, LLC. (ETS) a Joint-Venture between Edgewater Federal and ECS Federal upon award of the Sandia National Laboratories Third-Party Telecommunications and Information Technology (TPTIT) Support Services contract to ETS by the National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC (NTESS), to provide comprehensive enterprise and mission-embedded IT support for Sandia National Laboratories personnel and the lab’s infrastructure at multiple locations across the United States.
