At a gathering last week on the lawn at Los Alamos Medical Center, 100-Plus Women Who Care donated $12,475 to JudyGails Place, a new local nonprofit organization that supports women who have escaped from a violent relationship. JudyGails Place has trained advocates who work directly with families who have experienced intimate partner violence and have made an ongoing commitment to leave the environment. They provide confidential services to locate resources for the needs they face during the transition. The goal of JudyGails is to make it easier for these families to find resources and stay safer so they don’t return to their abuser or end up homeless as a result of their choice to leave domestic violence.
