LAPS News:
Thanks to Los Alamos High School junior Madison Ross and other members of the LAHS Honors Art Club, Mountain Elementary School has a new wall mural. Madison led the students in the efforts to create the mural based on the theme of Let Us Grow.
“Madison was an integral part of the effort from its planning stages well into the actual painting which took three months every weekend in early to late spring,” Mountain Elementary Principal Megan Lee said. “She put in many long hours.”
Principal Lee added, “What was once a dark and gloomy hallway has now become a beautiful painted space that students can enjoy as they head to the art room.” Madison was presented a certificate of appreciation from Mountain Elementary in recognition of her efforts.
Los Alamos High School art teacher Mary Grace supervised several other art students who helped with the project. They include Jade Blackhart, Cheyenne Haag, Olivia Hamilton, Wren Hammond, Gwyneth Johnson, Sabrina Kelley, Angelique Vigil, Jack Vincent, Aspen Wakefield and Annie White.
