New Restroom Facilities for Park and Trail

The Los Alamos County Parks Division has completed two new restroom facilities. The restrooms will be put into operation on Wednesday of this week.  Dick McIntyre, Parks Division Manager reports that the restrooms were planned and budgeted as part of the Canyon Rim Trail development.

The first restroom is found at East Park next door to the new Los Alamos County Animal Shelter.

This completes the first segment of the Canyon Rim Trail. Future trail segments are planned to eventually extend from Anniversary Point on the East end all the way to the Los Alamos Medical Center on the West end, taking advantage of the outstanding mesa and canyon views along the way. A segment will be included along the canyon rim of the Trinity Place shopping center development.

This first segment of the Canyon Rim Trail is a popular addition to the county’s trail system thanks to Open Space Specialist, Craig Martin, and his youth crews along with Dick McIntyre and the parks division staff.
