The New Mexico State Treasurer’s Office will swear in Ricky Serna as Deputy State Treasurer at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 6, at the State Treasurer’s Office.

The oath of office will be administered by New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver and will be open to members of the public and press.

Following the swearing-in, Serna will fulfill statutory requirements and be sworn in as Treasurer Montoya’s proxy to serve on the Renewable Energy Transition Authority (RETA), Educational Assistance Foundation (EAF), Opportunity Enterprise Review Board (OERB), and the Capitol Buildings Planning Commission (CBPC).

After completing his oath of office, Deputy Serna will begin participating in upcoming bank meetings and will be added as a signatory to the State Treasurer’s Office banking signature cards. He will meet with bank partners to transition signature authority and assume additional financial responsibilities.

Deputy Serna began his official duties on March 1, 2026. Former Deputy State Treasurer Janice Y.
