New Mexico State Police (NMSP) on Dec. 20, 2024, conducted traffic operations throughout the state. The goal of the operation was to curb dangerous driving, enforce moving violations, and create a heavy presence of law enforcement officers.

During the four-hour operation, NMSP officers contacted more than 400 drivers, issued 585 citations and made 15 arrests, 3 of which were DWIs. Citations issued ranged from violations such as speeding, no insurance and no seatbelt.
NMSP remains committed to enforcing the state’s traffic laws to ensure motorists’ safety and reduce crashes throughout the state. NMSP will continue to conduct operations throughout the rest of the year and into 2025.
