ROOSEVELT & CURRY COUNTIES — From April through July 2025, the New Mexico State Police Crime Suppression Bureau (CSB) conducted a long-term operation in District 9 targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking. The goal of the operation was to identify, infiltrate, and apprehend suspected narcotics traffickers operating in the region.
Through extensive efforts, CSB Narcotics Agents conducted numerous controlled purchases of illegal drugs, resulting in multiple arrests and search warrants. These efforts resulted in the arrest of several individuals for various drug-related charges.
Arrested:
- Roland Rodriguez — CSB agents executed a search warrant on a residence in Clovis, NM, following prior undercover purchases of narcotics with the assistance of the NMSP Tactical Team. Agents located approximately 5.6 grams of methamphetamine and 46.5 grams of non-prescribed prescription pills. Rodriguez was arrested without incident and transported to the Curry County Detention Center. Rodriguez is charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
- Juan Martinez — CSB agents conducted an undercover cocaine purchase from Martinez and linked narcotics activity to his residence in Portales. With the assistance of the NMSP Tactical Team, a search warrant was executed on his residence. Agents seized approximately 18.4 grams of suspected cocaine and 1.6 grams of Xanax. Martinez was transported to the Roosevelt County Detention Center and charged with Trafficking and Distribution of a Controlled Substance.
- Magnolia Prince — CSB agents previously purchased narcotics from Prince. A felony warrant was obtained for five counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Prince was served at the Roosevelt County Detention Center, where she was already incarcerated on unrelated charges.
- Michael Ruiz — After multiple narcotics buys, CSB agents obtained a felony warrant for Ruiz on the charges of Trafficking a Controlled Substance, three counts. He was successfully taken into custody by the NMSP Tactical Team. Ruiz was transported to the Roosevelt County Detention Center.
- Ruben Alfaro Jr. — After undercover purchases of narcotics were made from Alfaro in Clovis, a felony warrant was obtained for one count of Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Alfaro was successfully taken into custody by the NMSP Tactical Team and booked into the Curry County Detention Center.
- Alonzo Munoz — Agents purchased narcotics from Munoz in Portales, and obtained a felony warrant for his arrest for one count of Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Munoz was apprehended without incident by the NMSP Tactical Team and booked into the Roosevelt County Detention Center.
Narcotics Seized:
- Meth: 141. 7 grams
- Cocaine: 430.9 grams
- Marijuana: 88.2 grams
- Prescription pills: 67.1 grams
Additional Updates:
One individual is pending charges for Trafficking a Controlled Substance (Conspiracy), and another is pending Possession charges; both are under review by the District Attorney’s Office.
In a separate case, CSB agents purchased a large quantity of cocaine from a Clovis-area male. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has adopted this case for federal prosecution.
