New Mexico Museum Of Natural History & Science Hosts ‘Observing With NASA’ Interactive Kiosk To Explore Cosmos

NMMNHS News:

The New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science (NMMNHS) will host Observing With NASA, an interactive exhibit kiosk from the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory that engages visitors in the art and science behind NASA imagery.

This kiosk is available to visitors during normal museum hours as well as during after-hours events, including their upcoming First Friday Fractal celebrations!

The Observing With NASA (OWN) kiosk offers an introduction to the tools, data, and skills that NASA space scientists and data visualization experts use to create the images of deep space objects that we all know and love.

The OWN Kiosk features a range of NASA’s most iconic images to explore and opportunities for visitors to put their own artistic spin on these images through image analysis and processing. First Friday evenings, be sure to ask one of the docents how to get your own astronomy picture posted on the monitor above the kiosk!

The OWN Kiosk is open during regular museum hours. It’s also available the first Friday of each month – 5:30-8 p.m., April 7 and May 5 –  during their First Friday Fractals events. The Kiosk will be at the museum until May 31.

Following the worldwide interest in images captured by NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, the OWN Kiosk offers a unique opportunity to explore the tools and data that makes images like those come to life!
