New Mexico History Museum Extends Docent-led Historic Walking Tours In Downtown Santa Fe Through Dec. 31

NMHM News:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico History Museum (NMHM) and Friends of History invite state residents and visitors alike to explore 400 years of Santa Fe history, cultures and peoples on foot this December.

For the first time, the nonprofit Friends of History is offering two-hour walking tours of historic downtown Santa Fe through Dec. 31.

Docent-led tours depart from the Lincoln Avenue entrance to the Museum every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1:15 p.m. – including Christmas Eve and New Years Eve, weather permitting.

Normal rates apply: $25 for adults 18 and older; $15 for youth 8 to 17 years of age; free for children younger than 8 (accompanied by adult). For details and tour schedule, visit: https://friendsofhistorynm.org/walking-tours/

Group and custom tours at other times may be available upon request. All tour fees are donated to the state museum by the nonprofit organization, since they began in the 1980s.

Established in the 1980s, Friends of History walking tours are the only two-hour excursions in Santa Fe led on foot by volunteer docents trained under the auspices of the New Mexico History Museum. Docents recount the authentic history of a unique city through landmark locations, diverse people and cultures, and often remarkable events.
