DFA News:
SANTA FE—The New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration has named Cecilia Mavrommatis its new Local Government Division Director.
Mavrommatis comes to the position with decades of experience serving in the military and working in federal and state government, most recently serving as principal executive policy and budget analyst for DFA.
“Cecilia is fully prepared for this opportunity, and our local communities will greatly benefit from her leadership, and experience in state and federal government, as well as from the lessons she took from her time as a Marine serving our country,” DFA Secretary Wayne Propst said.
“It is both an honor and a privilege to serve in this role, and to continue building on the successes of the past and work jointly with our local government leaders and our organizations in efforts to streamline processes and procedures to vitalize our state together,” Mavrommatis said.
Mavrommatis joined the DFA in 2022 after working for the Department of Defense, managing fiscal responsibilities for U.S. military commands in the Indo-Pacific. A decorated Marine Corps veteran, she served both in the U.S. and overseas. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Hawai’i Pacific University and a political science degree from the University of Maryland. With more than a decade of civil service experience, fiscal stewardship remains central to her work.
