DPNM News:

Around 5 a.m. Thursday, the Democratic Party of New Mexico (DPNM) Headquarters at 4013 Silver Ave. SE in Albuquerque was broken into and burglarized. Security footage from DPNM cameras and a nearby business showed that an individual smashed through the front door, entered the office, grabbed a handful of items, and then ran off.

Staff discovered the break-in upon showing up for work that morning. The staff is taking stock of the damage and inventorying items in the office.

“Although our team is very troubled by this, we’re glad no one was in the office at the time of the break-in,” DPNM Spokesperson Daniel Garcia said. “There’s no telling why this person broke into our office, but in these times of heightened political rhetoric, we can’t rule out the possibility it could have been politically motivated. Democratic Party offices across the country have been vandalized recently. Whatever the motivation was, we have to repair the damage, clean up the mess, and help our team recover missing items.”

DPNM thanks the Albuquerque Police Department for its quick response and helpfulness. DPNM encourages anyone with any leads to call 505.242.COPS or email info@nmdemocrats.org.
