New Mexico Actors Lab Opens 2026 Season With Eureka Day

NMAL News:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Actors Lab (NMAL) will open its 2026 Season April 30 with EUREKA DAY by Jonathan Spector.

Directed by Robert Benedetti, this play explores one of the central questions of our time: How do you build consensus when no one can agree on the truth?

The production will run through Sunday, May 17.

Winner of the 2025 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play and called “the funniest and the saddest play of the season” by the New York Times, EUREKA DAY is the story of the Eureka Day School in Berkeley, Calif., a bastion of progressive ideals: representation, acceptance, and social justice.

In weekly meetings, Eureka Day’s five board members develop and update policy to preserve a culture of inclusivity, reaching decisions only by consensus. But when a mumps outbreak threatens the Eureka community, facts become subjective and every solution divisive. Though enormously entertaining, this play deals in a comedic and satirical spirit with the serious issue of vaccine mandates.

Tickets are now on sale at the NMAL website, www.nmactorslab.com. Flex Passes are $160 (five shows or admissions for the price of four). Individual tickets are $40, with discounted tickets (see website for details) and a preview performance costing $20.

If seats are available, $5 rush tickets will go on sale five minutes before each performance. All performances are at NMAL’s permanent home, the Lab Theater, 1213 B Parkway Drive in Santa Fe. Thursday–Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m.
