FormerActing Police Chief Philmont Taylor in his office today after turning over the reins of the Los Alamos Police Department to Chief Dino Sgambellone. He told the Los Alamos Daily Post he is happy to be back in his role as Los Alamos County Emergency Management coordinator after six months. ‘I’ve been working for some branch of government for 42 years and when I look back at my work in the Navy and emergency services – this is the hardest job I’ve ever had. It’s a hard job when you’re trained and experienced but it’s much more difficult when you aren’t. It just never ends … when your phone goes off it’s rarely anything good, it’s usually to solve a problem so I’m glad we have somebody in here now who is knowledgeable and experienced.’ Photo by Carol A.
