ALBUQUERQUE ― The National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC) Saturday held a “Blue Bench” training in Albuquerque for more than 60 Democrats who are interested in taking the next step in their political careers.
The training was geared toward Democrats who are planning to run for office, work on campaigns, or work for a state party in the near future. Experts from the NDTC focused on essential aspects of running a campaign, including fundraising, messaging, digital communications, and field operations.
“This training is a fantastic example of how we’re working to build the Democratic bench in New Mexico and ensure that we have strong candidates running up-and-down the ballot,” DPNM Party Affairs Director Hayden Cuffman said. “The NDTC is able to offer expert advice and insight into fundamental aspects of being a candidate or running a campaign. By partnering with organizations like this, we’re making sure that Democrats in New Mexico continue to build on our successes at all levels of government.”
“DPNM was proud to welcome the NDTC as part of our work to invest in the next generation of Democratic leaders,” DPNM Chair Marg Elliston said. “We were thrilled to see such a high turnout from young people who are interested in getting involved. This kind of commitment and enthusiasm is exactly what we need to build a political movement that inspires generations of New Mexicans to come.”
