NDI New Mexico Hosts Virtual ‘Run For The Thrills’

NDI News:

SANTA FE — NDI New Mexico announces the 2020 “Run for the Thrills” virtual run.

This family-friendly event takes place Oct. 23-25 as a replacement for last year’s Dance-A-Thon and offers participants the choice of running a 1K, 5K, 10K, half marathon or full marathon and fundraise to support NDI New Mexico programming.

“This virtual fun run is a great way for families and individuals to get outside for a good cause,” NDI Executive Director Russell Baker said. “Participants can choose the distance they want to run, and then invite people to donate based on the distance. It’s also perfect no matter where you live, because you can run in your own neighborhood.”

Registration for the event runs until Oct. 18. Participants who register before Friday, Oct. 9 can take advantage of Early Bird savings.

Inspired by Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the Run for the Thrills Oct. 23-25, and participants are encouraged to record themselves crossing their “finish” line based on the distance they are running, and submit a video of themselves doing NDI New Mexico’s classic Runs and Jumps in costume.

The best costume wins a $50 Visa gift card. Send in a video of Runs and Jumps to be entered to win.

“The goal for this virtual fun run is $25,000 to help support NDI New Mexico programming throughout the year,” Baker said. “The individuals and families who sign up for Run for the Thrills will not only support children across the state, but also help keep NDI New Mexico’s programs affordable and attainable for all families of New Mexico.”
