Nature On Tap At UnQuarked Thursday April 7

LACD News:

Come to Nature On Tap at 5:30 p.m., Thursday at UnQuarked Wine Room, 145 Central Park Square, to discuss what is new and planned for the Los Alamos County trail network.

Los Alamos County’s Open Space Specialist Eric Peterson will provide an update on upcoming projects, expected maintenance, and how community members can get involved. There are numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the summer in the 1st Annual Summer Series—Volunteer Trails Cleanup Days!

Peterson serves as the Open Space Specialist overseeing the County’s open space and trails systems. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Ohio and has spent the last six years working in the Open Space Industry, which included Bernalillo County and the City of Albuquerque.

Nature On Tap is part of a series of conversations about art, history, nature and science. Sponsored by the Los Alamos Creative District and hosted by PEEC – The Nature Center, this series begins each evening with an informal 10-15 minute lecture followed by a lively group discussion. “On Tap” is a way for people to get out and about in the community, learn something new, and meet people with similar interests. On Tap happens twice a month. The discussions are supported by Bradbury Science Museum, Fuller Lodge Art Center, Los Alamos Historical Society and PEEC.

The mission of the Creative District is to advance the community’s unique creative identity and generate increased economic prosperity by curating and providing local cultural programming that connects a broad range of stakeholders.

The Los Alamos Creative District is a program of Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation; a private, not-for-profit economic and community development organization serving the Los Alamos area since 1983. LACDC serves as the umbrella organization for the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce, Los Alamos MainStreet, the Los Alamos Meeting & Visitors Bureau, Los Alamos Small Business Center and the Los Alamos Research Park.
