LAAC News:
Los Alamos Arts Council (LAAC) has announced a special opportunity with SALA Event Center showing National Theater Live, now a LAAC sponsored event. The first of these showings is “Hamlet” 7 p.m. Jan. 23 and featuring Benedict Cumberbatch, directed by Lyndsey Turner.
SALA and LAAC will bring these world-class London theater productions to Los Alamos, enriching the community with exceptional cultural experiences.
About the National Theater: “We film unmissable theatre live from Britain’s most exciting stages and screen it in thousands of cinemas around the globe. Our productions have been seen by an audience of over 12 million people.”
From the Los Alamos Arts Council: “When we considered how best to leverage funding for cultural events this season, we wanted to find a program that would engage people in new ways that we haven’t tried before. The opportunity to sponsor the National Theater Live program at SALA Event Center really aligns with our mission to bring cultural programming to the community in an accessible way, and to support both the ongoing efforts of our local cinema and to engage our community with traditional theater in an unexpected format: on the big screen right here in their backyard.” –Executive Director Brandi Engeman
