The National Park Service (NPS) has shared Bandelier’s National Monument’s 2024 annual report.
“I am very proud of our progress toward achieving our strategic goals and the many other accomplishments by our staff and our partners,” Superintendent Patrick Suddath said. “We continue to strive to be the premier park for showcasing the ancestral and ongoing connections between the outstanding cultural and natural resources contained in Bandelier, and the Pueblos and Tribes that continue to call this place home.”
Highlights of the year include:
- Signing a shared services agreement with Valles Caldera National Preserve’s Fee Collection program;
- Working with New Mexico Game & Fish to reintroduce native fish into Frijoles Creek;
- Rerouting the trail at the Tsankawi Unit;
- Expanding the Juniper Campground parking lot; and
- Recycling more than 9,000 pounds of scrap metal.
