National Museum Of Nuclear Science & History Fall Homeschool Programs Now Available

National Museum of Nuclear Science & History News:

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History welcomes homeschool students and families back to the Museum.

Programs specifically for homeschool students ages Pre-K -1st grades, 2nd-5th grades, and 6-12th grades are hosted in person. These homeschool sessions are designed for students to enjoy science while introducing principles and concepts to the more advanced learners.

Teaching uses demonstration and hands-on activities. Following the CDC guidance for schools and other programs and spaces for children, the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History recommends face masks that cover the mouth and nose be worn at all times while at the museum for the health and safety of all visitors and staff.

Homeschool Programs for Pre-K – 1st Grades:
(9-10 a.m. Tuesdays)

The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History presents their early learning, Pre-K- 1st grade homeschool sessions. Get your early learner started with learning science, technology, engineering, and math with engaging stories and related STEM activities.

Guided by museum educators, early learners will develop key skills including problem solving, creativity, teamwork, independent thinking, communication, literacy, and critical analysis. STEM early learning is not just about technology, it is an approach to learning by providing learning environments that help develop young children’s curiosity and critical thinking skills.

Pre-K-1st grade homeschool sessions will be held Tuesdays starting Sept. 6 through December 13, from 9-10 a.m. Themes change weekly. Registration can be either per session or register for the entire semester.

These homeschool sessions are designed for the students in 6th-12th grades to enjoy science while introducing principles and concepts to the more advanced learners. Teaching methods use demonstration and hands-on activities. Themes for these Homeschool sessions change weekly, and align with STEM standards including Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, and Technology.

Homeschool sessions for 6th-12th grades will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesdays starting Sept. 7 through Dec. 14. Registration can be either per session or for the full semester.
