Mustangs Gear Up For First Tournament Showcase Sept. 20

SPORTS News:

The New Mexico Mustangs Girls Tier II hockey team is set to take the ice next weekend for their highly anticipated first tournament showcase at the Outpost in Albuquerque.

The Los Alamos players participating in the tournament are Adrienne Burrows, Cecelia Pietryga and Aryn Ward.

The Mustangs will face some stiff competition, taking on Team Arizona Kachinas, Colorado Mountain Select, Colorado 14ers, and the Anaheim Lady Ducks in a three-day showdown.

The action kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20 as the Mustangs battle Colorado Mountain Select. They’ll be back on the ice Saturday at 11:30 a.m. to face the Anaheim Lady Ducks, followed by a 4:45 p.m. matchup against the Colorado 14ers. The tournament concludes on Sunday with a 10:30 a.m. clash against the Arizona Kachinas.

The Mustangs are riding high after a hard-fought victory against the New Mexico Warriors last week. The team has been working tirelessly all season, and this tournament represents a chance to showcase their skills on a larger stage.

Win or lose, the Mustangs are committed to continuing their hard work and dedication to the sport. The tournament is just one step on their journey to becoming a top-tier hockey program.

“All our hard work has been leading up to this moment,” Head Coach Cody Seaton said. “We’re excited to see how we stack up against some of the best teams in the region. No matter what happens, we’ll keep pushing ourselves to improve.”

The Mustangs are ready to leave it all on the ice. They invite all hockey fans to come out and support them as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
