Music on Barcelona:

The Los Alamos piano trio of Brian Newman, violin; Shanalyn Kemme, cello; and Cindy Little, piano is returning to Music on Barcelona at 5:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25.

Music on Barcelona is the last Friday of the month musicale at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Santa Fe, 107 West Barcelona Road.

The Newman-Kemme-Little Trio appeared there last February, performing a Shostakovich trio. Today they will perform Joaquin Turina’s Piano Trio No. 1.

Other works during the hour-long program include Haydn’s Trio in E-flat for flute, bass clarinet and piano, six pieces for brass performed by Brass Menagerie – Santa Fe, with Jan McDonald on trumpet.

These musicales are free and open to the public, and donations are encouraged.

The February musicale was moved ahead a week, because of Washington’s Birthday. The Feb. 15 Music on Barcelona will include music by Dahl, Gounod and Lachner.
