NMDCA News:
SANTA FE — The Museum of International Folk Art (MOIFA) and the Friends of Folk Art (FOFA) will host the World of Treasures Silent Auction and Party on Saturday, November 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at MOIFA, 706 Camino Lejo, Museum Hill, in Santa Fe. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on 100 rare and unique folk and fine art treasures from around the world, and shop an array of ethnic / traditional clothing, jewelry and folk art décor at the event’s design boutique.
“The goal of the event is to raise funds to help MOIFA share its own ‘world of treasures’ with a wider audience throughout New Mexico,” said event co-chairs, Nancy Volksen and Kathleen Orozco.
“We are actively broadening our statewide education outreach and community programming,” adds Charlie Lockwood, MOIFA executive director. “The funds raised through this event will allow us to tour our ‘Cartoneria’ exhibition and to partner with other community organizations, cultural sites, libraries and small businesses to share our exhibitions and educational programs with communities across New Mexico”
The World of Treasures promises to be a great party for a great cause. It will be a fun and festive evening; the auction and cocktail party will feature New Mexican cuisine and refreshments served by Weldon’s Museum Hill Café. Stuart Ashman, former Secretary of New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and an attendee at last year’s auction, described it as “One of the best museum parties I have been to!”
Tickets are $75 and are currently available to FOFA members. Sales open to the public on Oct. 6. For tickets and more information, visit: https://worldoftreasures2025.eventbrite.com/
