David Rael of Los Alamos crashed his motorcycle at 5 p.m. Sunday on Diamond Drive.
Police arrested Rael, 35, and charged him with aggravated DWI, assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, resisting and evading an officer, concealing his identity, reckless driving, failure to give immediate notification of an accident, driving on a revoked license, driving with no registration and driving with no insurance.
Rael “bolted into the nearby canyon” after crashing his motorcycle, according to an eyewitness. Police located Rael a short time later and brought him to waiting paramedics from the Los Alamos Fire Department.
Rael sustained a number of injuries in the one vehicle crash and his face was bleeding at the scene. Paramedics rendered aid and transported Rael by ambulance to Los Alamos Medical Center where he spent the night.
Police transported Rael to jail this morning. He has bonded out and a court date will be set for him to face the judge.
