More Views Of Plane Incident At Los Alamos Airport

Another view of the incident Wednesday afternoon in which a visiting Grumman Widgeon ran off the runway during take-off and hit a tied-down local aircraft at the Los Alamos County Airport. The incident is being investigated by the FAA and New Mexico State Police. Local pilot Robert Gibson explained that the yellow Widgeon is a twin-engine high wing amphibian (can take-off and land on land or water) produced by Grumman Aircraft in the 1940s and early 1950s. The plane damaged by the Widgeon is a Beechcraft Musketeer owned and flown by a local pilot. Photo by Robert Gibson
