ELKS LODGE News:

For more than 12 years now the Elks Lodge of Los Alamos has “adopted” disadvantaged children and given them gifts to ensure they have a bright light for their Christmas. The Elks Lodge partners with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Daughters society, local schools, as well as directly with families.

This year, with the pandemic and economic worries, the need is greater than ever and the Elks Lodge has approximately 135 children on its list.

This is more than twice as many kids as have been adopted in the past.

To ensure that all kids get something this year, the Elks Lodge is asking for donations only. They will give each child a gift card with which to choose their own gift. With so many kids, the Elks is targeting a $20 gift card for each child, but of course the more donations received the more the children will receive.

The Elks Lodge is accepting checks, made out to BPOE 2083, (with check noted that it’s for the Kids giving Tree) or cash (place in envelope noted Christmas Kids Giving Tree). Give donations to any officer or drop them in the Lodge, or mail to the Lodge at:

BPOE 2083
1601 Trinity Drive
Los Alamos, NM 87544
