Position Summary:
The person selected for this position will be responsible for the overall development and administration of the Teen Center programs and activities.
Essential Functions and jub duties include:

  • Enforce set standards for qualified staff and safe programs
  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate and provide leadership for staff/volunteers
  • Ensure all positions are filled and staff are properly oriented
  • Consult with schools, parents, and others to assist in member and Center issues
  • Ensure a safe, clean facility and keep equipment secure and functional
  • Set up extended hours as necessary
  • Work with staff/volunteers to enhance programs by establishing curriculum and conducting surveys to assess program needs
  • Plan and assist in fundraising and special events when needed
  • Survey participants and community members and compile data
  • Create, apply, and evaluate internal goals and standards including and assisting in implementing the Y’s annual strategic plan
  • Create a youth advisory board that meets regularly
  • Seek out and implement Teen Center best practices
  • Communicate clearly staff expectations and follow up to ensure compliance
  • Effectively implement emergency procedures appropriate to the site and in conformity with procedures adopted by emergency service authorities to ensure the safety of the participants and staff
  • Consistently demonstrate positive interaction with all participants; talk to them and treat them with dignity and respect
  • Express clear expectations and hold participants accountable for adhering to them
  • Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility
