Dear Class of 2025,
I must tell you that you hold a special place in my heart. I’ve known many of you since you were little kids—some even since before you were born! It has been my privilege to watch all of you mature into the remarkable young adults you are today, and your growth fills me with immense pride. It seems like just yesterday you were wide-eyed freshmen, a little unsure but ready to take on high school. These four years truly went by in a flash, and it’s difficult to believe that graduation is now upon us.
This journey has been long, but your perseverance and dedication have brought you to this moment. Your hard work has culminated in this achievement, and soon you will proudly walk across the stage to receive your high school diplomas. After today, you will embark on new paths and leave your unique mark on the world. I have no doubt that your exceptional talents, impressive skills, and distinct personalities will lead you to success, and I cannot wait to hear of the great things you will each accomplish.
I will genuinely miss our conversations in the hallways, at school events, and even just seeing you at Smith’s. Hearing “See you tomorrow, Ms. Dunwoody” always brightened my day, and it makes me a bit sad that after graduation, there may be many tomorrows before I see some of you again. As I’ve shared with many of you recently, I feel like a mother bird preparing her fledglings to leave the nest.
While my heart is confident in your abilities, there’s a natural nervousness about you departing Los Alamos High School. For the past four years, we have strived to provide you with the resources and support necessary for your success. I trust that the lessons learned both inside and outside the classrooms have prepared you well. I know you are ready to spread your wings and soar!
Good luck, Class of 2025! I wish you all the best!
Renee Dunwoody
Principal
