PEEC News:
The community is invited to join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center for its first virtual Summer Family Evening of the year at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3.
Los Luceros Historic Site’s Instructional Coordinator Carlyn Stewart will virtually lead the audience around the historic farm and introduce the animals that live there. Del Norte Credit Union is sponsoring PEEC’s Summer Family Evenings all summer long.
Viewers will meet the historic property’s herd of goats, Churro sheep, chickens and donkey. Natilla and Biscochito, the youngest lambs at the site, also will make a special appearance.
Attendees will learn about the lives of these animals, get a tour of the beautiful ranch and can ask questions along the way.
“Though we won’t be able to offer our popular Summer Family Evenings in person this year, we think these virtual gatherings will provide a fun and entertaining learning experience,” PEEC’s Marketing Manager Rachel Landman said. “Attendees will also get behind-the-scenes look at the organizations and museums we’re featuring that they wouldn’t get at an in-person program!”
Summer Family Evenings take place via Zoom every Wednesday in June and July (except July 1). These events start at 6 p.m. and provide virtual fun for the whole family.
Registration is required to get the link and password for the Zoom broadcast. Visit peecnature.org/events to sign up for this event and other upcoming programming.
Normally, Summer Family Evenings are free for PEEC members and $5 per family for non-members. Virtual Summer Family Evenings are free for everyone. If attendees are able to do so, PEEC asks that they consider a gift to help the organization continue providing programming like this. Look for the optional donation box when registering for this and other PEEC offerings.
