Meet Artist Kimber Wallwork-Heineman:

I am a long time photographer, not a great photographer, but even I get lucky sometimes. My intrigue with the camera is immense, but my real passion lies with taking a simple photograph and making it a vision of my thoughts and feelings. Finding the art within the photograph is a mysterious, illusive, trial and error process, and my favorite part of the process.

Each image, that I decide to focus on, is similar to travel. When a traveler goes to a place never visited, there is a search that begins. It is a search of curiosity and passion, of colors and people, cultures and art. Photographs appear on every corner, paintings present themselves in vivid colors and landscapes offer inspiration and awe. If the traveler is able to connect with the people of this foreign place, a magical thing happens and a story is created.

When I choose an image, I look for the story. It is rare that I have a clear picture of what the end piece might be like, but I have several ideas, pictures dancing around,  and I simply play.  I try things out and experiment. I travel around the image looking for all the best places to really experience this little piece of time on our planet. And the image unfolds and speaks. Hopefully, it speaks to the viewer as well.

Digital photography/digital art and the software available to enhance, manipulate, change, collage, or paint are quite simply infinite. The digital painting revolution is similar to that of the digital camera taking the place of film. Advances in techniques and materials are explosive. Imagine having every art supply ever imagined or created at your fingertips!

If my work excites curiosity in this rabbit hole of technology, then I have gotten your attention and accomplished my goal. If the viewer enjoys my interpretation then I am giddy and pleased. And if I have you looking at this digital art revolution in a different light or wondering what you might be able to accomplish, then I have pulled you down the rabbit hole with me. Enjoy and Good luck.
