PURGATORY News:
The annual McDonald’s Cardboard Derby at Purgatory Resort is 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12 at Purgatory’s Tubing Hill.
“We have a ton of great prizes up for grabs,” said Matthew Krichman, events manager for Purgatory Resort. “From train tickets, Yeti backpacks, mugs and water bottles, to gift cards to local restaurants and winter gear, but the real prize is the fun and glory of this classic winter competition!”
This is a derby, not a race. Derby racers will build their own sled ahead of time using cardboard and duct tape only. The objective is to successfully pilot your vessel down the hill with points awarded for distance, control and enthusiasm.
Space is limited to 30 registrants and costs $15 until March 10 or $20 on Derby day. The derby is open to everyone over the age of 3, children under 6 must co-pilot with an adult. Participants are required to wear a helmet.
