Marlene Wilden Joins Los Alamos Daily Post News Team

Marlene Wilden

Staff Report

Marlene Wilden has joined the Los Alamos Daily Post as a general assignment reporter.

Wilden draws on a career spent navigating boardrooms, brand crises and big-picture strategy. She worked in Corporate Affairs for a number of major companies, including Nielsen and Thomson Reuters. Recently, she has been operating her own firm, which includes a portfolio of growth-stage clients.

Wilden said her experience ranges from private equity transactions and post-merger integrations to high-stakes communications planning, giving her a deep understanding of how organizations and people navigate complexity. Now, she is turning that same sharp eye toward covering the Los Alamos community.

“I’ve always cared about the kinds of stories that bring people together and help make sense of the world around us,” Wilden said. “This role gives me the chance to dig into local issues, explore untold stories and connect with a community that’s doing really meaningful things.”

Managing Editor Kirsten Laskey said the Post is pleased to have Wilden join the team.

“Marlene brings a lot of enthusiasm and energy to the newsroom,” she said.

Wilden is also a proud member of the U.S. Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce, a community she credits with teaching her how to stay flexible, act quickly and lead with integrity no matter where she is based.

“That perspective shapes how I work and how I report,” she said. “I’ve learned to stay open, stay curious and really listen.”

Post Publisher Carol A. Clark welcomes the unique perspective Wilden brings to the paper.

Wilden recently relocated to Los Alamos and said she is looking forward to engaging with the community both on and off the page.

“This is a place where science, creativity and community all come together in interesting ways,” she said. “I’m excited to get to know the people behind the headlines and to bring their voices to the forefront where they belong.”
