Margie Burt Weatherford Lane

Margie Burt Weatherford Lane was born on April 27, 1926, outside of Devils Lake, N.D., during a time when radios were the heart of the home. She grew up helping on the family farm with her five younger siblings. At age 15, the family moved to Tigard, Ore., where she graduated high school.

Shortly after, she met her future husband, Leslie Weatherford and moved to his hometown of Vidor, Texas. There they raised their three children, Marylou, Burt and Laurie.

After Leslie’s passing, she reconnected with a friend from Tigard High School, Harley Lane, whom she eventually married. They made their life together in Los Alamos New Mexico, where Margie continues to live in her home of 50 years.

Known for her kind heart and compassion, Margie has always found joy in bird watching, reading, travel and spending time with her family – three children, two stepchildren, eight grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

Today as she turns 100, we celebrate not just her years but the countless lives she has touched with her kindness, love and wisdom.
