March Brown Bag Performance Features Taos Pianists

Claire Detels

LAAC News:

The Los Alamos Arts Council’s March Brown Bag Performance will feature pianists from Taos, Kim Bakkum and Claire Detels, playing music by Romantic era composers, Clara Schumann (1819-1896), Cécile Chaminade (1857-1944), and Florence Price (1887-1953).

Some of the music will be played “four-hands,” two players on one piano.

The concert will begin at noon Wednesday, March 7, in Fuller Lodge. The Brown Bag concerts are free to the public.

Bakkum and Detels are professional pianists who have each established an international performing career. Now residents of Taos, they are performing inspirational concerts around New Mexico, and maintaining private teaching studios.
