Step Up Gallery News:
Beginning Jan. 15, the healing art of Santa Fe artist Feather Redfox will fill Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library.
The public is invited to an opening reception, 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, with an artist talk by Redfox at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
More than 60 paintings will be shown in this exhibit, called Magic Paintbrush – Painting Peace and Healing. Redfox describes her process for creating this artwork as one of exploration. She approaches the canvas with a question or thought, and rather than painting a preconceived scene or composition, she lets the question guide her paintbrush.
Redfox received her formal art training at the Philadelphia College of Art (BFA) and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MFA). She is also a certified Red Thread Guide, as well as a graduate of the Lynn Andrews Center for Sacred Arts and Training.

“The gifts of ART can be as simple as interacting with a beautiful work of art to gain feelings of joy and peace from it, to changing the energy of your home, to creating a beautiful focus for the entry of your home,” Redfox said.
In tandem with her artistic pursuits is her spiritual exploration.
“I walk with one foot in the physical world and one foot in the spiritual world,” she said.
The exhibit will be shown through Feb. 11 in Step Up Gallery.
