SFOG News:

The Santa Fe Opera Guild presents Opera: Telling Stories Through Music featuring presenter Maestro Joe Illick 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 107 W. Barcelona Road in Santa Fe.

Maestro Joe Illick is back live to perform one of our favorite events, Opera: Telling Stories Through Music, his piano preview of four of the operas of the upcoming Santa Fe Opera season: Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier and Gaetano Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love.

A long-time member of the Santa Fe Opera Guild commented recently, “No matter how familiar I think I might be with an opera I always learn something new listening to Joe Illick.” She went on to say, “His deep knowledge of music, combined with his engaging stage presence, always adds up to a delightful evening.”

“We hope you can join us at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 14 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation as Maestro Joe Illick helps us gear up for the excitement of the Santa Fe Opera’s 2024 Festival Season.”

With a resume that includes conducting, composing, piano recital, and musical administrator, Maestro Illick brings a wealth of experience to inform his always-engaging talks. Mark your calendars for May 14 and join us for a fun and educational evening.

Proceeds from this special event will go toward Opera Guild programming and the Guild’s support of The Santa Fe Opera’s Education and Community Engagement Department.

This is not an activity of Unitarian Universalists of Santa Fe.
