The League of Women Voters will have its monthly Lunch with a Leader combined with its annual meeting at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Mesa Public Library.
The beginning time of 11 a.m. gives people an opportunity to browse and bid on silent auction items at the event. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. as usual.
Social Services Manager, Kim Gabaldon will be the featured speaker. Her topics will include progress the County has made toward consolidating social services, a review of the behavioral health issues since New Mexico outsourced them to Arizona, and how the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) has changed the health care for citizens in New Mexico.
After she concludes, around 1 p.m., the League will begin its annual meeting, which will include approval of a new board. The entire meeting will end by 2:30 p.m. at the latest.
