The League of Women Voters is featuring Los Alamos County Housing and Special Projects Manager Paul Andrus at its monthly community event, Lunch with a Leader at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 in Mesa Public Library.
In addition to providing leadership on moving the County forward with its overall housing strategic vision, Andrus also is responsible for a variety of projects, including the development of the A-19 Site in White Rock. In an effort to ensure that Los Alamos collaborates with regional partners on housing issues, he serves on the board of the Northern New Mexico Housing Authority and the Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico. He holds a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning with a concentration in Economic Development from the University of Colorado, Denver.
Andrus will present an overview on current housing needs in the County and discuss what initiatives are being pursued to achieve the community’s overall housing goals.
Prior to moving to Los Alamos, Andrus worked in the affordable housing and community development field in the Denver, Colo., region. He has more than 20 years of experience in affordable housing development and strategic planning, homeless assistance strategies, economic development and neighborhood revitalization.
Andrus, his wife Becky and their two children, moved to Los Alamos to enjoy the benefits of the small town environment and to be closer to the great outdoors.
To order a $10 lunch made by the Los Alamos Co-op, call Karyl Ann Armbruster at 505.661.6605 for menu choices. Ordering lunch is not necessary to attend the talk. However, all lunch orders do need to be placed by Saturday, Feb. 14.
