Luján Taps Brad Elkins To Manage Senate Campaign

Brad Elkins

POLITICAL News:

Nambé – U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Luján, the U.S. House Assistant Speaker, announced today that Brad Elkins will serve as campaign manager for his U.S. Senate bid.

Elkins starts in the role immediately and will oversee operations for the campaign.

“Brad is an experienced hand with strong roots in New Mexico politics. I’m thrilled he’ll lead our campaign team as we work to earn the support of all New Mexicans and help present my bold vision to champion expanding health care, protecting our environment, and bringing new opportunities to our state,” Luján said.

Prior to managing the Assistant Speaker’s race, Elkins managed fellow New Mexican Sen. Martin Heinrich’s reelection campaign – the most expensive Senate campaign in state history. Elkins oversaw all operations for a campaign that generated a 24-point victory for Heinrich in a three-way contest.

In 2016, Elkins served as deputy campaign manager for Jason Kander’s U.S. Senate race in Missouri, where he was responsible for the campaign’s political, organizing and administrative operations. Before that, he oversaw western states for Gov. Martin O’Malley’s presidential campaign.

Elkins also has served as campaign manager on a U.S. House race in California, political director on a governor’s race in Iowa, and in numerous other roles on campaigns throughout the country.

Elkins previously served as political director of the Truman National Security Project and as deputy chief of staff and senior adviser in the U.S. Senate.

Originally from Pasadena, Calif., Brad studied computer science and mathematics at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore.
