STATE News:
MORA — U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) met Thursday with county and local officials in Mora to discuss the historic wildfires that rage across the state and mitigation efforts to ensure affected New Mexicans can recover and rebuild from these disasters as quickly and strongly as possible.
“Collaboration with local leaders is one of the most important parts of my job – especially during emergencies,” Luján said. “New Mexicans are facing the devastating effects of these wildfires and floods on a daily basis, and they deserve a robust, coordinated response from their elected leaders.
“My staff and I have been in constant communication with the communities enduring the worst damage, such as Mora and Las Vegas, which has allowed us to help folks on the ground and secure resources for recovery.”
